It was just after midnight when my phone buzzed with an alarm no label, no explanation just a countdown timer starting at ten minutes. Confused, I tried to dismiss it, but the timer kept ticking down, each second echoing louder in the silent room. As the clock neared zero, strange things began to happen  lights flickered, the temperature dropped, and shadows stretched unnaturally across the walls.

I frantically searched for answers, but every device around me went dead, except the phone. Then, just as the countdown hit zero, a voice whispered through the silence  “Time’s up.” My heart raced as the room plunged into darkness, leaving me wondering what had just begun and if I would make it through what came next.
